The Kansas and Western Missouri Chapter hosted a public readings of the Constitution on September 17th, 2025.
In Douglas County we had a grade school recite the preamble from memory, city and county commissioners, the county DA, Judges, and community (Sons and daughters of the American Revolution) and local bar members participate.
In Wichita we had a huge turnout, including lots of parents, teachers and schoolchildren, two TV stations (KSN & KAKE), Judges Broomes, Melgren & Birzer, Mayor Wu and a large host of other lawyers and court personnel. Chief Judge Broomes was also kind to meet with the large gallery of participants before the reading to explain some of the court’s functions and answer very creative questions from the schoolchildren.
